Music: Electric Love

Here is another electronic music track for you to enjoy!

The melody for this song was originally composed for an outdoor theatre play: Sverdet (The Sword). The play was about king Olav, a king that one thousand years ago set a goal to christianise the whole of Norway. His nick name was “the Holy”, but in my opinion someone who utilises violence and terror for any purpose, as he did is more unholy than anything. The story behind the composition goes as such: We were rehearsing a love sceene between the king, played by Kristoffer Hivju, now famous for his character ,Thormund, in the TV-series Game of Thrones, and his queen, played by Cici Henriksen. Suddenly the director stops and shouts out to the musicians: “It would be great with a tender kind of lovesong for this scene.” During the next break I composed this melody, much to my own amazement. This is probably one of the most beautiful melodies that has come from my heart.

Music: Memories…

I’m looking through all the stuff on my old pages, and all the stuff from other pages i have made. and by that triggers lots of memories. I will now take you down my musical memory lane with a few songs of mine.

Kongsgården2000First off is a song from Ehwaz. Originally this piece of music was composed for a L.A.R.P. with the same name. Since then i have this tune has been trough a long process and i have made many versions of it. But the very bes of them all is the one we covered with the band Ehwaz. This is a live recording from a concert in Tønsberg, year 2000. This surely brings back memories..

faces-redNow to something completely different.. Origami Disharmonika is my own solo project, where i make the music i want to listen to my self. Disharmonika is a slow moving vessel, where all songs go through many changes through many years. This one is from the free web release “underworld”, year 2001. All the recordings for this release was done on an old 4 track kasette recorder and then Kjell Øyvind Braaten mixed it in his home studio.

snakeDid i mention something different? Well here comes a song from “cicatricula and the smoking snakes”. This is a project i am so happy to have been a part of, and so sad that it never took off. Thomas Kvilhaug composed loads of nice songs, i produced them and Maria Franz joined in as musician. It sounds a bit like an electronic version of Ehwaz. But still has its very own qualities.
